  1. 01

    Open an image

  4. 04

    Export

Download a flattened image with the redactions permanently baked in.

What it does well

Truly permanent
Original pixels under each box are replaced in the exported file, not just covered by a layer.
Three styles
Solid black, pixelate and blur, with adjustable strength.
Works on touch
Draw boxes with a mouse, trackpad, pen or finger.
Undo friendly
Remove boxes or undo your last one before exporting.

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The tool is free because it runs on your own device, which costs us nothing to host.

No. Everything runs inside your browser using JavaScript and the canvas API. Your files are never sent to a server, so you can safely use this tool with confidential screenshots and documents.

Solid boxes are the only style that removes information completely. Light blur or large-block pixelation over short text can sometimes be partially reversed, so use solid boxes for passwords, card numbers and IDs.

Yes. The exported image is flattened: the pixels under each box are overwritten. There is no hidden layer that could be removed later.
