Quilt v1.5 — Speed, Stability, and Smarter Captures

Version 1.5 is a massive under-the-hood upgrade focused on performance and reliability. We've rewritten core parts of the app to be faster, more precise, and significantly more efficient with your Mac's resources, all while introducing powerful new capture logic.

• 📜 All-New Scrolling Capture Engine: Scrolling capture has been re-engineered from the ground up for speed and precision.
• Live Stitching: Your scrolling captures are now built in real-time using Apple's Vision framework for incredible accuracy. No more waiting for post-processing!
• Smart Stop: The capture automatically ends when it detects the content is no longer scrolling, saving you time.
• 💻 Robust Display Handling: Quilt now intelligently handles changes to your monitor setup. If a display is disconnected mid-capture, the session will pause and let you choose a new target, preventing failed captures.

🚀 Improvements & Fixes

• Massive Performance Boost: Enjoy significantly reduced CPU usage and better memory management, especially during captures and in the preview window. The app is now faster and lighter than ever.
• Optimized Previews & Exports: The preview grid loads thumbnails much faster, and exporting large batches of images or PDFs is now multi-threaded and dramatically quicker.
• Proper Display Names: The source picker now shows the actual names of your monitors (e.g., "Studio Display") instead of just their resolutions.
• Smarter File Naming: Exports will now automatically get a numbered suffix (e.g., capture-1.png) to prevent accidentally overwriting existing files.
• Fixed: The "Press Esc to Stop" overlay will no longer appear in your final screenshots.

This is a massive update focused on giving you more control, better feedback, and powerful new ways to work with your captures. We've redesigned major parts of the app to be faster, smarter, and more customizable than ever, with a polished new look that feels right at home on macOS Tahoe.

✨ What’s New in v1.4

• Capture in the Background (Pro): Start a capture session and switch to other apps while Quilt works for you. Perfect for long captures that don't require your attention. Currently works with 'Do Nothing' and 'Press Key' actions.
• Drag & Drop Reordering: Rearrange screenshots directly in the preview grid! Simply drag any thumbnail and drop it into a new position to change the order before exporting.
• Custom Filename Templates (Pro): Take full control of your export filenames. A new "Export" tab in Settings lets you create your own naming convention with placeholders like {YYYY}-{MM}-{DD}, {AppName}, and {WindowTitle}.
• Expanded Image Export Formats (Pro): In addition to PNG, you can now export images and ZIP archives in JPEG, HEIC, and WebP formats for more flexibility.
• Real-Time Capture Progress: Never guess how long a capture will take again! Quilt now shows a live progress bar and an intelligently adapting Estimated Time Remaining (ETR).
• Completely Revamped Settings: The Settings window has been rebuilt from the ground up with a new multi-tab design, making it easier to find and configure every aspect of the app.

• Fluid Animations: The entire app has been infused with new animations that make it feel more alive and responsive, from the source picker to the main capture screen.
• macOS Tahoe Visuals: Quilt now embraces the future with beautiful new Liquid Glass design elements throughout the app, feeling right at home on the latest OS.

• Improved License Management: The license page has been updated, allowing you to easily manage your subscription or deactivate the current device directly from within the app.
• Smarter Area Selection: When selecting a custom area, Quilt now automatically detects the window underneath, which can be used in your filename templates.
• Redesigned Source Picker: The window and display selector is now significantly faster, more reliable, and features a polished new design with app icons and clearer titles.
• In-App Renaming: Edit the filename for your export directly in the preview window before saving.
• Enhanced Capture UI: The countdown is now a sleek, animated progress circle, and the main screen provides clearer, more dynamic status messages.
• Improved Space Awareness: The source picker is now much better at showing only the relevant windows for your current macOS Space.
• Arrow Key Navigation: In addition to drag & drop, you can now use the arrow keys to navigate and re-select screenshots in the preview grid.
• Improved Responsiveness: Fixed an issue where the app could become unresponsive during high-frequency captures.
• Key Press Reliability: Corrected an issue to ensure automated key presses are sent more reliably.

• macOS Tahoe Support We introduced optimizations for the new OS including support for Liquid Glass, as well as new UI elements like rounded buttons.
• Critical License Fix Fixed an issue where users were unable to redeem their license keys on prior versions of Quilt.

• 📜 Scroll Capture: Capture long webpages and other scrollable content with ease. Perfect for articles, chat logs, or anything that doesn’t fit on one screen.
